Kitchen Update

kitchen remodel 1

Just a couple of pictures to show the progress in our kitchen.  It already looks 100 times better – the countertops, new sink, faucet, and appliances are all installed.  As I write this the tile guys are installing the floor and the backsplash.  Then, we the painter is going to paint our cabinets and walls.

Progress is much slower than I’d like but we’ve had so many uncontrollable circumstances – the wrong tile, items on backorder.  Remodeling less than 200 square feet is much more challenging than I thought it would be.

I’m grateful, though, that we’re able to do this.  As you can see from our before pictures, our little kitchen needed a make-over.

Much Love,

Gorgeous kitchen!! I know you’re going to absolutely adore it when its all done =D. We renovated our whole house, and the kitchen is so much more useful and wonderful than it used to be. It sounds like you’re just about there – Good Luck!

Getting close…I’m going to post pics when it’s all done. It is going to be so much more user friendly…I’m having an island custom made to fit, too, so I have more work space.

It looks great Amy. We remodeled the kitchen in this house when we bought it. I wasn’t blogging and didn’t take “before” pictures. I wish I had. It was so pathetic. You’ll really enjoy the changes.

Thanks!! I love the female support. My husband doesn’t share my need to talk about every little thing like I do. I’m sure you saw my before pics – we had this AWFUL yellowish laminate everywhere…ugh. I saw your countertops in one of your pictures – they’re lovely.

Kitchen is wonderful. I know you and Joe will enjoy using the new counter tops and sink. Did you install an intstant water. Did you use Granite? Looking to do my in Fla but not really sure what to use.

Hey Bettye – Joe says hello and sends his love. Yes, granite. No water filter. You should go ahead and do it, though, because you love your water filter in TN. We have a great guy installing everything…wait until you see the tile!!! It’s looking so good. :) We love you!!

This is really NICE Amy! Your contractors are fast too! I like your faucet it goes really well with the counter tops. Is the sink stainless or black? An island sounds wonderful!

So glad you like my faucet. We hired a lady to help me pick colors AFTER the faucet was installed – she told me I should have gone with stainless. I don’t want any more stainless in my kitchen than there already is. She also told me to hide my hinges – I happen to like hinges. :) It’s a matter of taste, I guess. The sink is stainless – the photographer (me) is flawed.

The progress looks amazing! Your countertops are beautiful. I’m sure best of all, will be just being able to be IN your own kitchen again.

Sleep there….what a crack up. You are too funny. You should have your husband take a photo of you camped out in your new kitchen when it’s done and let us know how your night went. I love it! :)

Thanks, Lea. It’s still a work in progress….we’re hoping that the contractors are out of here by Friday. I am so happy with it, though – so much more functional and it makes the entire house feel more homey.

This is so funny. I’m currently remodeling our kitchen as well (think less than 100sq!) and it’s still so hard! We started at the end of June and the counter guy was here this morning to measure. Granted, I ripped everything down to the bare studs and now am only missing a few cabinets, counter and backsplash. Yours is looking great! Do you have a “before” picture?
It’s going to feel good cooking GF in a completely NEW environment, not one contaminated by decades of wheat, etc.

    Good luck!

I’m posting the finished product tomorrow. You won’t believe the difference. You can find before pictures here. Good luck to you, too – it was maddening at times. My husband thought I should be so happy because we were finally doing the remodel but I had a rough time being trapped in the bedroom with the dogs for the entire time. Anyway, we got through it and now I am SO HAPPY!!
